01 Non-segmental

This is the most common type, characterized by symmetrical depigmentation on both sides of the body. It often appears on the hands, feet, elbows, knees, face, and other body parts. Non-segmental vitiligo usually progresses over time and can occur at any age.

02 Segmental Vitiligo:

Segmental vitiligo involves depigmented patches that develop on one side or segment of the body. It tends to appear in younger individuals and may progress for a limited time before stabilizing. This type often doesn't spread beyond its segment and may respond differently to treatment compared to non-segmental vitiligo.

03 Focal Vitiligo

Focal vitiligo involves limited and localized depigmentation in specific areas, appearing in a small number of patches. It typically remains stable and doesn’t spread extensively over time.

04 Acrofacial Vitiligo

Acrofacial vitiligo is a subtype or pattern of vitiligo characterized by depigmented patches primarily affecting the extremities (acral areas) and the face. This type of vitiligo often presents with patches specifically on the fingers, toes, hands, feet, and around the facial region, including the lips and around the eyes.

05 Universal Vitiligo

Universal vitiligo is a rare and extensive form where depigmentation covers most or nearly all of the body's surface area, resulting in nearly complete loss of skin color.
